Scott Podsednik had 4 hits and scored 3 times at the ballpark as the Dominican
Republicans beat the Langley Farm Team in 11 innings by the count of 7 to
5.

Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings.  Dominican came out
on top in the 11th inning.  Alfonso Soriano opened up the inning nicely when
he drew a walk.  Podsednik came next and he banged out a single.  Podsednik
took off for second and slid in with a stolen base.  One out later, Scott
Hatteberg stepped up to the plate and he hit a deep fly scoring a run.  Jason
Bay stepped into the box and drew a walk.  Aramis Ramirez kept the inning
going and laced a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning.  Dominican
had a total of 12 hits for the game.  

The victory went to Dennis Tankersley(1-0) who went 1/3 of an inning, allowing
no runs. Jorge Julio got the save, his 5th.  Matt Wise(1-1) suffered the loss
in relief.
